Translation

Sacred to the memory of Richard Stevenson, M.A., Fellow of the College.  A young man of outstanding promise, he had immersed himself in the more arcane branches of philosophy.  In the very flower of his youth an all too early death stole him from his parents and friends, his nearest and dearest.  He was born in Barton in Nottinghamshire on 19th October 1811, and died there on 28th September 1837.  His native soil holds his ashes.
